Seasonal Planting - Summer

The cooler weather of this year's early summer doesn't mean we won't be able to indulge our plans for the summer garden. Try new planting schemes that run riot with colour - hot tips include planting delphiniums, campanulas and lupins with paeonies, as well as putting roses in the shrub border beside mallows and deutzias - and for added beauty and scent, add philadelphus, the lovely "mock orange" .

We've put together a list of plants that will work well in our gardens here in the North East. All of the plants listed are readily available here at Raemoir as well as expert advice on hand if you're not sure what will work best for your garden.

Clematis

Clematis are a wide ranging genus of deciduous and evergreen climbing plants

  • the large flowering summer hybrids provide spectacular displays
  • all clematis benefit from moist and shaded roots but growing in a sunny shelter aspect
  • for best results, all later flowering varieties need to pruned hard every spring.
