Summer in Your Garden

Do you know what jobs you should be doing in the garden right now?

As Spring gently drifts away and May heralds the beginning of the long Summer days, it's time to finish sowing hardy annual flowers outside. As we're a little further North, take time to do regular weather checks and keep an eye on young plants and seedlings; keep some fleece or protective covering at hand to protect from unexpected frost.

There's so much to do! Feed your spring flowering bulbs to give them a boost for next year's flowering, and give any established shrubs and bushes a feed too. Move pot-bound plants into new homes and remove weeds from flower and veggie beds. Start planning your hanging baskets and containers, and your borders. We've got loads of tips and useful resources in this Summer's Seasonal Section.
