                                                                                                 Pears

Pear trees, like apples, have long been a favourite with gardeners in the UK.  For reliable cropping, especially in the north east of Scotland, we would recommend varieties whose origins were derived in the UK.  Some of our favorites include, Conference, Concorde and Invincible.

Blueberries

Blueberries are on of our favourite forms of fruit.  Not only do they give a tasty crop of fruit, they also provide the garden with a superb splash of colour.  In the autumn the foliage turns a vivid red and can be used as an autumn interest shrub as much as it can be used as a fruit bush, however they will require to be planted in ericaceous soil.  Popular varieties include, Patriot, Bluecrop and Darrow.

                                                                                               Cherries

For all those with a sweet tooth why not try growing cherries.  Although there are many varieties to choose from, we have found there to be some more successful than others.  Summer Sun, Stella and Sunbrust are all excellent self-fertile varieties, while the Morello Cherries make excellent cooking cherries.
